Constantly having to shave is a pain, and something that very few people enjoy. Waxing provides an alternative to getting that smooth, hairless touch that we all enjoy, without having to constantly upkeep our legs, arms or bikini area. In order to make sure that your skin doesn’t get irritated by the wax, Salon Solutions has a couple of before and after you can take advantage of!
If it’s your first time getting a wax, we recommend taking 1 or 2 advil or tylenol so that the tenderness doesn’t bother you. Other than that, simply making sure that your hair is long enough to have the root of your hair removed for long term hair removal.
After your wax appointment is where the real care takes place. Immediately after you may notice some tenderness and what looks like a prickly heat rash. This is normal and should go away after a few hours. During the waxing process, your hair is removed by pulling out the hair from the root, meaning that your skin is going to be sensitive and your skin’s pores will be open. Because of this, we recommend using any products that are high in chemicals or fragrance. This includes any lotions soaps that have fragrance included in them. This will only irritate the skin more. Also, avoid getting into any pools or sun tanning. Because the skin is so sensitive, these types of activities will make your skin tender, sensitive and inflict a bit of pain.
Following these tips for the 3-7 days after your wax will help make sure that your skin is nice and moisturized and has minimal sensitivity. For any questions that you have regarding the waxing services at Salon Solutions, contact our office. We are more than happy to help you!
